67,000 cultural history photographs
There are about 67,000 cultural history photographs at Voss Folk Museum. These are photographs taken by most of the photographers who have been active in Voss.
There are of course many other older photographs, but most of the photos in our archive are from the period after World War II. In 2014, Voss Folk Museum acquired the photography shop Herheim foto’s archive, which contained photographs from over 55,000 assignments. The archive contains photographs taken by Gjøstein foto 1945–1956, and by Herheim foto 1956–2014.
Kjell Herheim works at the museum two days a week, and those who want access to the photography collection can make an appointment with him.
