20,000 books

Voss Folk Museum has a large collection of books. The majority of the books are non-fiction, but there are also journals, fictional literature and newspapers. The library has close to 20,000 books, around 30 shelf metres of archival material.

The museum has increased its collection over time. It features a lot of local history, a large collection of antique books, and non-fiction covering a range of topics. We also have most local newspapers, and, among others, the complete editions of Hordaland from 1902. In 2016, we received a big book donation from Hordaland County Authority when we took over 10,000 books from the upper secondary school, Voss gymnas.

The books are not for loan, but there are tables in the library where you can sit and read. Contact us if you want to use the library.
